About us

Tasmanian Sports Camps (TSC) was set up in 1985 to focus on the development of young sports people through interactive 1 - 3 day sports clinics, with the assistance of high profile sports personalities.

Talking with and coaching young people at an early age not only increases their love and commitment to their chosen sport, but also their awareness of all facets of their sport both mentally and physically. To date TSC have provided more than 6000 young Tasmanians with the opportunity to gain invaluable coaching from some of the best sporting personalities in their chosen field.

TSC have continued to develop their services to become a provider of keynote speakers for companies throughout Tasmania. TSC also have a collection of memorabilia which they regularly place on the market for sale.

TSC was the dream of Chris Hawkins over 20 years ago as he searched for a way to promote 'health through sport' to children, a need he believes has become prominent in the modern age of computers and fast food. With a Bachelor of Education and over 20 years experience as a physical education teacher, Chris has a great understanding of the physical education needs of children. He has a natural connection with all ages making him an excellent clinic host. Chris is also a level three Australian Rules Football Coach, a qualified Occupational Health and Safety and First Aid lecturer, as well as a registered childcare provider. Chris believes with the right encouragement and advice all young Tasmanians can be healthy and fit. Chris' enthusiasm, flare and professional approach has ensured the TSC keynote service has flourished, with TSC providing keynote speakers for events across Tasmania.
